OT: A good place for free online storage space

If you’re looking for a good online storage site, for backing up your data or sharing files for personal or business use, I’ve tried a few and I like DropBox the best. It’s simple and it works. File management is straightforward, unlike some other sites. Their optional free utility will automatically sync your designated folders to your online space. With the utility there’s no limit on file size, and it also can sync to other machines on your network! It’s as easy as dropping your file into your local folder, and DropBox does the rest. It’s worked flawlessly for me so far, and upload rates here are about 1.5Mb/s.
They give 2GB of space for free, but if you use this referral link: https://www.dropbox.com/referrals/NTQ3NTIwNDc5 , both you and I will get an extra 250MB of space. Then, for each friend you bring in you get another 250MB, up to 8GB total – which is a significant amount of space.
I use this for backup. My backup program deposits a passworded zip file into the DropBox folder, then Dropbox automatically uploads it into the cloud. Actually, I just checked out some of their tips and tricks, at http://wiki.dropbox.com/TipsAndTricks , and I see a lot more you can do, including hosting a web site and even running a remote computer. There’s an interesting wiki, and I’m impressed with how closely they work with their user base.
I’m posting this because it seems like a win-win. I have nothing to gain except helping people out and the extra 250MB if anyone signs on.
