I’m uploading a couple of screenshots of The Word and will post them to twitter, so people can get a feel for how powerful this free Bible software is. This is a very exceptional gift that Costas has given the Body. And if you can help support the outreach by purchasing some paid modules through him, that’s great. But even if not, this is a great way to read and study the Word.
First, a general shot of my latest layout. Click on the pic for full size.
That’s a Search window in the upper left, then a Bible window in the upper middle. The upper right is taken by a Strong’s dictionary and Tense-Voice-Mood of the Greek verbs. The bottom row has another two Bible windows, and then the excellent Guzik commentary. There’s a floating Bible window barely showing up from the bottom, which I pull into focus when I want to read something without disturbing the other Bible windows. |
And now a shot of a popup. Merely hovering over any word calls up a keyed popup. In this case, the word referenced is “flesh” at the top left corner of the popup (in 2Cor 10.3). This feature makes looking through the English text, into the original language, so easy that a mouse click isn’t even needed. |
Lastly, here’s a shot of a floating Bible window. I keep this one big and I drag it into place from being mostly off-screen when I want to do unimpeded reading with full Bible context. |

Many “official” screenshots here.
SNARES OF SATAN AS TO PRAYER.
It is a common temptation of Satan to make us give up the reading of the Word and prayer when our enjoyment is gone;
as if it were of no use to read the Scriptures when we do not enjoy them, and as if it were of no use to pray when we have no spirit of prayer;
whilst the truth is, in order to enjoy the Word, we ought to continue to read it, and the way to obtain a spirit of prayer is to continue praying;
for the less we read the word of God, the less we desire to read it, and the less we pray, the less we desire to pray.(Muller)
Thanks Paul for reminding us of this bible software. I had installed it but found I just could not get a handle on it. Once I made notes I could not retrieve them. Once I figured that out how to retrieve them I coulnd’t make an index of the notes I had made and forgot what passages I had studied as they started to mount up. Then I just deleted the whole thing.
As you know I love everything about the Bible and never let a day go by without praying or studying some part of it.
Now I’ve installed the Word again; going to give it another try. I have to give a reflection to a group on Phillipians 2:1-4 and would love to use every possible help that the program gives.
I’ll give it another try. If you have any hints I’d appreciate them.
Thanks and blessings

Just stick with it. Like anything, it yields its secrets and power with diligent effort.
Most of my writing I do in Word. The Verse Note function is good though, because it automatically keys to whatever verse is displayed. Currently I’m not using TW for writing at all, but still it’s a GREAT Bible tool.
Ok thanks .
I use Word for all my notes and I can find them easily, naming each one under it’s own OT and NT title.
I was trying to do the same with TW but wasn’t successful.
I’ve used a few of the Bible tools and programs in the past and have really enjoyed what they can do so quickly. The difference with this one is that all the tools are all there in one spot; I find it takes more concentration to keep them all separate. 🙂
Still a good program and I think I’ll give it another chance.
Thanks

VERY INTERESTING- IRAQ IN THE BIBLE
1. The Garden of Eden was in Iraq
2. Mesopotamia, which is now Iraq, was the cradle of civilization!
3. Noah built the ark in Iraq
4. The Tower of Babel was in Iraq
5. Abraham was from Ur, which is in Southern Iraq
6. Isaac’s wife Rebekah is from Nahor, which is in Iraq
7. Jacob met Rachel in Iraq
8. Jonah preached in Nineveh – which is in Iraq
9. Assyria, which is in Iraq, conquered the ten tribes of Israel
10. Amos cried out in Iraq
11 Babylon, which is in Iraq, destroyed Jerusalem
12.. Daniel was in the lion’s den in Iraq
13. The three Hebrew children were in the fire in Iraq
(Jesus had been in Iraq also as the fourth person in the
Fiery Furnace!)
14. Belshazzar, the King of Babylon saw the ‘writing on
the wall’ in Iraq
15. Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, carried the Jews
captive into Iraq
16. Ezekiel preached in Iraq

18. Peter preached in Iraq
19. The ‘Empire of Man’ described in Revelation is called Babylon –which
was a city in Iraq
And you have probably seen this one: Israel is the nation most often
mentioned in the Bible.
But do you know which nation is second?
It is Iraq!
However, that is not the name that is used in the Bible.
The names used in the Bible are Babylon , Land of Shinar , and Mesopotamia … The word Mesopotamia means between the two rivers, more exactly
between the Tigris And Euphrates Rivers ..
The name Iraq means country with deep roots..
Indeed Iraq is a country with deep roots and is a very significant country in the Bible.
No other nation, except Israel , has more history and prophecy associated
With it than Iraq
And also, This is something to think about:
Since America is typically represented by an eagle.
Saddam should have read up on his Muslim passages …
The following verse is from the Koran, (the Islamic Bible)
Koran ( 9:11 ) – For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle.. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced; for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah;
And there was peace.
(Note the verse number!)
